Little “Slice” of Home in Granada

Café d’Sano: a beautiful café located in the heart of Granada

After spending several months in Spain, it’s been very wonderful to find a few places that feel like home. The most significant of these places is a café located very close to my home. At this café you can spend hours just sitting and people watching, listening to the music, and sipping a typical “café con leche”, the Spanish twist on a latte. Truth be told, I absolutely love carrot cake, and this café had the BEST carrot cake I’ve ever tasted. An interesting thing about the cafés in Spain is that they are like sit-down restaurants in the US. You don’t go up to the counter and order, but instead sit down at the waiters bring the menu to you. Although it sounds like a little thing, this was an odd change to adapt to because it was a cultural difference I learned on my own. Now it feels incredibly normal, and I’ll have to readapt to the cafés in the US!! I will certainly miss this place, because it was one of the first places I visited when I got to Granada. I will miss the atmosphere of the place and the buzz of Spanish conversations even more than the incredible coffee and carrot cake.
